The Little Polar Bear [ Series: The Little Polar Bear ]

Derived from the popular children's books by Hans de Beer, this enchanting tale has the titular fur-covered cutie, Lars, taking a trip to the tropics courtesy of a drifting ice floe, while an eco-aware subplot has him tackling a sinister automated super-trawler that's decimating the local fish stocks. The animation has a nicely retro feel, the storyline is clear and simple, and Lars is a love - although a passle of terminally depressed lemmings manage to steal the show. Short and most definitely sweet, this animated adventure is ideal for children aged six and under - the only drawback being that little 'uns of a more nervous disposition might find the creepy trawler a touch too scary.
